Ger Youth Center

Dedicated to serving the children and youth in Northern California


“Ger” Youth Center is a community based, non-profit organization and it is tax exempt under section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. It was founded in April, 2009 by Mongolian immigrants living in the San Francisco Bay Area, who are devoted to preserving and promoting the traditional arts, culture and the heritage language among the younger generations of the Mongolian community in the United States.

Vision: Children and Youth flourish to be successful leaders of the 21st century.

Mission: “Ger” Youth Center is dedicated to supporting, promoting and educating children and youth through educational and cultural programs to assist them in achieving their highest potential.

Values: We value respect, dignity, kindness and integrity.

Finance: “Ger” Youth Center operates on students’ tuition and public donations that enable to purchase textbooks, school supplies, costumes, musical instruments and professional individuals’ compensation. Thank you for your generous contributions to create positive changes in lives of children and youth in the United States and in Mongolia.

7th Scholastic Quad Chess Tournament

“Ger” Youth Center’s 7th Scholastic Quad Chess Tournament

Open to players age 18 and under

When:  January 6, 2019

Where: Oakland Asian Cultural Center, 388 9th Street, Suite#: 290 /right next to the Bart station/

Rounds: 1pm, 2 pm, 3 pm (Come early to register! Registration ends 12:30pm.


Time control: Game in 30 minutes, 5 sec delay

Entry fee: $25.00 /$35.00 on same day/

 Prizes: Trophies for the winners of each quad

Medals are awarded to all participants.

Note: Tournament will be regulated by USCF rules. Tournament is USCF rated. Quads based on rating.  Any child that is older than 8 must be USCF member to play. Any child that is 8 years or younger does not have to be a USCF member to play. However, they will receive a USCF rating if they choose to play. USCF memberships cost $17 for a year for any child under 13 years of age.

Public Performance & Rental Policy

Public performances: GER Youth Center’s renowned professional teachers/artists and their students in traditional Mongolian dance & music classes have been invited to perform at various cultural events in the Bay Area. In order to respond equally to these requests, GER Youth Center adapted this policy. These fees will help us maintain our costs to run programs.  For more click here.

Treasures of Mongolia Gala Concert

The Mongolian people have always valued their cultural heritage and we showcase this in our annual event Treasures of Mongolia. This cultural festival is held annually and features Mongolian traditional performances including folk dance, music, throat singing, contortions, real Mongolian food, arts & crafts, and many more!  Please visit our Gallery page and join us for the coming event.
